Lyrics

Satan

Hallelujia hallelujia hallelujia
I think I've seen God a couple of times now, face to face
but I'm still having trouble finding Satan
I've searched back alleys and shiny office buildings
but he still manages to keep me guessing
I've seen shadows from the corner of my eye
many I've been sure were him
I've heard whispers from lips
just inches from my ear
Hallelujia hallelujia hallelujia
I'm just looking for Satan
I've got something to say to him
I want to finally thank him
for all that I've done for him

I've peered into rancid botles
cigarette burns like firey eyes
but the fire is just energy changing
and the stench I smell is always disguised
its just the simple by-product
of some invention of mankind
just runoff from plastic
melted down and dumped here one time
Hallelujia hallelujia hallelujia
I'm just looking for Satan
I've got something to say to him
I want to finally thank him
for all that I've done for him

The election is coming up
Can I vote for Satan then?
I hear he won the primary
this year again
But as I step up to the lever
all I see are empty names
people looking for money
or for sex, or power, or fame

My father always said "be an example,
you can't beat them at their own game,
and if you do anyway
you and they become the same"
so now I'm out here waiting
for Satan to show his face
but the smoke that surrounds him
covers every track and trace
Hallelujia hallelujia hallelujia
