Oklahoma
I don't have lofty ambitions I'm just trying to stand up because I've got to take a piss but my feet feel weak below me and my hands shake like trees in the wind maybe I should explain, I saw a doctor for this pain she said that I would die before the winter came again but I'm not going down without a fight the like of which will knock out every light and burn out every switch in Oklahoma They tell me there is nothing I can do there ain't anybody I can sue I can't write to complain to any board of directors sometimes things just happen no matter what you do I remember how you used to sing those silly songs like the one about the fringe on the surrey I regret now that I didn't sing along I thought I had better things about which to worry now they all tell me to be strong but I'd like to take every conversation we ever had and try to cram them all in this song and blast it 'till my hearing goes bad They tell me there is nothing I can do there ain't anybody I can sue I can't write to complain to any board of directors sometimes things just happen no matter what you do Oklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains I ain't never been there let's go before it's too late the best things in life never come to those who wait I don't have lofty ambitions I'm just trying to stand up because I've got to take a pee but my feet feel weak below me and my hands shake like wind through the trees
