Oxygen

You blind me like the sun,
you burn my eyes and make my heart beat like a drum
you're brilliant like the a star on a clear, cold night
you keep my lungs breathing like oxygen

fill me with your secrets,
make them roll around my head
let me be the warm breeze fluttering around your bed

The gem hides in the rock
just like the sun behind the clouds
and sometimes you're too scared to see it shine
you reach across a moment to grab a bit of light
and feel your fingers burn

you take away my sanity
my hands shake when I reach to take your coat
don't you hear the quiver in my voice saying hello?
don't you see the outline of a lump in my throat?

Haunt me while I'm sleeping
keep recurring in my dreams
fill my heart so full that its bursting at the seems
