Poetry

March

March has grooves
tire ruts on a back woods road
indelibly cut
to freeze, thaw, freeze
the indecisive Earth's
last test of our fortitude
before the bold crokus
and gentle lilly of the valley
return again to
give us reward for
the tenacity to go on
in endless darkness
